Dear HBCU/MI Representatives:

We invite you to join us in Atlanta for the 2011 Department of Defense National HBCU/MI Conference. We have two primary goals for this conference. Our first goal is to inform HBCU and MI representatives of the opportunities available to them in research and educational programs with the Department of Defense and other Federal Agencies. In order to do that, you must attend the conference and participate in the activities and events that are planned for you. Our second goal is to assist you in making professional connections with Federal Agencies, academic institutions and contractors - small and large. As you know, networking is critical to future success of research and educational programs at our institutions.

To build on the foundation set at the February 2009 conference, we have launched this informational website for our attendees. Here you will find registration information, hotel accommodations, and preliminary agenda, along with general information about the conference. A list of conference attendees and their contact information will be available, after the conference. There will not be a conference registration fee; therefore, all you will need to do is attend and partake in the plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops and networking events that have been planned for you.

We hope that the website provides you with the information you need to register and make the necessary accommodations to attend the conference. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email the conference information hotline at info@nationaldodhbcumiconference2011.com. We hope to see you in Atlanta in March.

Regards,

Mrs. Evelyn W. Kent
DOD HBCU/MI Program Manager
